GRS Helpdesk/IT Support Internship

Reports to: General Manager
Location: Fairfax, VA
Compensation: Part-time (20-30 hrs. per week): up to $160 stipend per month
Full-time (30-40): $240 stipend per month

General Summary:

The GRS Internship is geared towards a student whose prospective career path is in the IT field. This opportunity is given to allow for experience to be gained in a company that provides commercial IT service and support for small and medium sized businesses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recycling IT hardware parts and equipment
  • Receive inbound office phone calls
  • Assist Helpdesk team with service related tasks
  • Perform initial hardware diagnostics for desktops and laptops
  • Visit client sites for deliveries or pickups as needed
  • Receive and document company inventory

Requirements:

  • 20-hour time commitment per week
  • Actively pursuing a degree in the IT field
  • Driven and motivated team player
  • Knowledge of Windows 7, 8 (Windows 10 is a plus)
  • Office 2010, 2013.
  • Software Driver Support and Installation
  • PC Hardware/Software Setup and Configuration
  • Basic networking skills required

Internship Details:

This internship begins July, 2016 and requires a 8-week commitment. This internship requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and interns may not be in the office more than 8 hours per day. The internship is located in Fairfax City, VA, 5 minutes away from George Mason University.

Compensation:

  • Part-time (20-30 hrs. per week): up to $160 stipend per month
  • Full-time (30-40): $240 stipend per month
  • Local travel expenses to and from the office are also reimbursed, up to a maximum of $20 per day
