Transfer a Call

Warm (Attended) Transfer

Places the current call on hold and initiates a call with the transfer destination to confirm whether the call is wanted or not. The two calls are then merged together.

How-To

  1. Press the Transfer button during an active call. Depending upon your phone model, this may be a physical button on the phone's body or a contextual button (sometimes called xfer) that appears on the phone screen during the call.
  2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call or choose from your directory and navigate to the desired contact.
  3. Press Dial or Ok (depending on your phone model). The phone will begin ringing.
  4. Press the transfer button again when you are ready to transfer the call after you have spoken to the transferee.

If you hang up before the call rings in step #4, the transfer will fail and the call will be disconnected.

Blind Transfer

Routes the call to a third party, the original call is ended, and no confirmation is made to determine whether the transferred call is answered or if the number is busy.

How-To

  1. Press the Blind Transfer button (sometimes called bXfer or Blind) during an active call. Depending upon your phone model, this may be a physical button on the phone's body or a contextual button that appears on the phone screen during the call.
  2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call or choose from your directory and navigate to the desired contact.
  3. Press Dial or Ok. The call is then transferred.
